The XH2596 series regulators are monolithic integrated circuits that provide all active functions for a step-down switching regulator capable of driving 3A loads with excellent line and load regulation. Fixed output voltages of 3.3V, 5V, 12V and adjustable output versions are available.


The XH2596 series operates at a switching frequency of 150 kHz, thus allowing the use of smaller filter components than would be required for lower frequency switching regulators. Other features include a ±4% tolerance on the output voltage over specified input voltage and output load conditions, and a ±15% tolerance on the oscillator frequency. External shutdown is included, with a typical 80μA standby current. Protection features include switch current limiting via two-stage frequency reduction and thermal shutdown in a failure condition.
