The XD82C55-5 is a high-performance CMOS version of the industry standard 8255A, using a self-aligned silicon gate CMOS process. It is a general purpose programmable I/O device that can be used with many different microprocessors. A total of 24 I/O pins can be individually programmed in 2 sets of 12 for 3 main modes of operation. The XD82C55-5's high performance and industry-standard configuration makes it compatible with 80C86, 80C88, and other microprocessors. Static CMOS circuit design ensures low operational compatibility.
