Overview

Product details

The XD7219 is a compact serial input/output common cathode display driver that connects a microprocessor (μP) to a 7-segment digital LED display with up to 8 bits, a bar chart display, or 64 individual LED displays. The chip includes a BCD code-B decoder, a multiscan circuit, segments, and digital drivers, as well as 8x8 static RAM to store each digit.
A convenient 4-wire serial interface connects to all common μP. Individual numbers can be addressed and updated without rewriting the entire display. The XD7219/ also allows the user to choose code B to decode or not to decode for each digit.
These devices include a 150μa low-power shutdown mode, analog and digital brightness control, a scan limit register that allows users to display 1 to 8 digits, and a test mode that forces all leds to light up.
