Sensing and instrumentation
The XL33035 is a high-performance, second-generation, single-chip brushless DC motor controller from Shinluda that includes all the features required for a fully functional open-loop, three-phase or four-phase motor control system. The device includes a rotor position decoder for correct commutation sequencing, a temperature compensation reference that provides sensor power, a frequency-programmable sawtooth oscillator, three open-collector top drivers and three high-current totem pole bottom drivers, making it ideal for driving power MOSFETs. The family also includes a variety of protection features, including undervoltage locking, cycle by cycle current limiting with selectable delay latch-off mode, internal thermal shut-off, and a unique fault output that can be connected to the microprocessor control system. The 33035 series offers typical motor control functions, including open loop speed, forward or reverse, run enablement and dynamic braking. They are designed for phase operation of electrical sensors at 60°/300° or 120°/240° and can also effectively control brushed DC motors.
